In Smeltende Stemme (melting voice), composer Jo David Meyer Lysne examines what happens as music melts.
Vinyl records has been recast into six 12-inch records of ice. While the stylus on the turntable digs into the grooves and brutally scrapes away the musical material that gradually melts, the listener can engage in the ice’s limitation in time.
The audience is invited into a different and challenging listening situation, where the chaotic, repetitive and condensed sound overshadows what is usually perceived as the meaningful part of the music. In this concert he will remix music by Christian Blom, Vilde&Inga, Microtub, Bjørn Erik Haugen, Mozart and Brahms, among others.
